Testimonial

Dr. Oluwatosin Smith, MD, Dallas, TX

I have used the ologen Collagen Matrix for the past 7 years and particularly like the results I get when I use it during revision of blebs. It acts as a nice spacer and leads to the formation of a diffuse more vascularized bleb with preservation of bleb function. In this instance, I get satisfactory results without the need to use additional antimetabolite. Other than acting as a spacer, it has also come in handy in other instances as a patch graft.

halo® Sterile Tissue

The halo® line of sterile tissues represents a leap forward in tissue quality, efficacy, and aesthetics.

Developed by Lion's Vision Gift, halo® tissues are competitively priced, have a stable shelf life, and do not require reconstitution. Tissues are also guaranteed to have a Sterility Assurance Level of 10-6, and no pooled human donor products are used in processing or storage.

For-Sight Ophthalmics

Our sterile cornea, pericardium, and sclera are used as patch grafts with glaucoma drainage devices.

For-Sight Ophthalmics

halo sterile tissues are currently in use by ophthalmic surgeons worldwide as an epithelialization substrate, tectonic support, or superficial patch graft used to treat a variety of ocular conditions. Developed at Lions Vision Gift's renowned Vision Research Laboratory, halo sterile tissues provide surgeons with distinct procedural and cosmetic advantages when performing glaucoma and other ophthalmic procedures.

VISIBLE BENEFITS
Unlike other glaucoma shunt covers made with allograft tissues, halo sterile tissues have been processed in no harsh chemicals and use electron beam sterilization to preserve a more natural appearance when transplanted.

CONVENIENCE
halo® tissues utilize convenient packaging allowing for easy introduction of the tissue to the surgical field. No more searching for tissues in a vial! Just open the package and use.

SHELF-LIFE
halo® tissues can remain at room temperature for up to 2 years and never need reconstitution, so you can always have tissue on-hand for scheduled or emergent needs.

STERILITY
ln a fraction of the time of traditional irradiation methods, halo tissues achieve the industry standard 10-6 using E-Beam sterilization. This limits the environmental exposures during processing.

AVAILABLE WHOLE OR PRE-CUT
halo® sterile tissues are available in whole or pre-cut cornea, and sclera or pericardium. Tissues are processed to standardized shunt cover and tectonic sizes.

Tissue sizes and order codes
Sclera 10mm x 10mm HSL-NA2
Pericardium 10mm x 10mm HPE-NA1
Cornea 8.5mm half/half thick HCO-HH1

Keratoconus

Keratoconus is a condition in which the clear tissue on the front of the eye (cornea) bulges outward. This affects your ability to focus, making your vision blurry or distorted. Its cause is unknown, but some factors are believed to increase your risk of developing the condition. They include:

Genetics: Some keratoconus sufferers have reported having family members who also suffer from the disease.

Allergies: Rubbing your eyes excessively can make keratoconus worse because it can damage your delicate corneal tissue.

Primarily symptoms first appear during puberty or the late teens. In addition to blurred vision, keratoconus can cause sensitivity, redness, and swelling, contact lenses to fit improperly, corneal bulging, and swelling or scarring of the cornea. Keratoconus usually affects both eyes, and the associated symptoms make daily tasks such as reading and driving extremely difficult.

Currently, advanced cases frequently require a cornea transplant as the only treatment option. KeraNatural offers an alternative to full penetrating corneal transplants and a natural option to other available treatments.
